THANK YOU & HELP NEEDED:

THANK YOU & HELP NEEDED:

a huge thank you to our friend Lloyd Townsend] for all his help & commitment driving over 2hrs each way to get 'Thredgood' back & forth to the vet specialist these past 2weeks. We tried everything we could to keep him with us as long as possible.

Quote from Lloyd, "We had a good ride together on what turned out to be his last day. Lots of tail wags, and some looking out the window at the passing scenery..."

Quote from Greta, "Threadgood reminded me so much of Cagney and was always one of my favorite nesters. I just saw his smiling face and waggy tail yesterday afternoon. I commented to Lloyd how happy it made me to see him wag for me because he had always been so standoffish. It was as if it was his little gift to me before he passed over the Rainbow Bridge. You will be missed by so many!!"

HELP NEEDED: Caring for all the dogs from the cruelty case has exhausted all our funds. The unexpected vet care for Thredgood is both an emotional & finacial set back. If you would like to help us cover his vet bill of over $800, you can do so by For direct donations, PayPal to rguidara@earthlink.net, or send cash, check or money order via PO Box 66, Whites Creek, TN 37189 USA. Thanks!

THREDGOOD 2002-2011

I LOVED YOU BEST
So this is where we part, my Friend,
and youâ??ll run on, around the bend.
Gone from sight, but not from mind,
new pleasures there youâ??ll surely find.
I will go on, Iâ??ll find the strength,
life measures quality, not length.
One long embrace before you leave,
share one last look, before I grieve.
There are others, that much is true,
but they be they, and they arenâ??t you.
And I, fair, impartial, or so I thought,
Will remember well all youâ??ve taught.
Your place Iâ??ll hold, you will be missed,
the fur I stroked, the nose I kissed.
And as you journey to your final rest,
take this with youâ?¦
I loved you best.

Rescued from Sumner County Animal Control Christmas Weekend 2006. They were going to kill all the animals in the facility due to the Holiday & they would be closed. We went there to rescue Idgie & Thredgood was sharing the same 'cell', he looked so scared, we couldn't take one & not the other. He crawled under the front seat of the truck, it took over an hour to coax him out. Once at the Nest, it took over a year to get him to let me touch him. He was heartworm positive & breezed right through treatment. For almost 3yrs I was the only person he would let touch him. He loved being with other dogs. He really turned into a gentle sweet, loving soul. He developed a bad cold that he just couldn't shake. He soon developed high blood pressure as well. We took him to Nolensville Animal Hospital to see Dr. Barry Fly. We tried many antibiotics & nothing seemed to work. His heart was showing signs of improvement with the blood pressure meds, but his lungs kept getting worse. All the tests were negative for cancer or blasto. It appeared to be an unknown virus or fungus. He was took week to survive anthestisia to do a biopsy. As a last resort, we started him on new meds 2/25. He came home from the vet wagging his tail. I tucked him into bed & snuggled down next to him & we both fell asleep. 3hrs later I awoke around 1am, with him by my side. His breathing was extremely labored. He was licking his lips. I got him a drink of water, he sat up to drink, I gently stroked his head, said I love you 'THRED', he kissed my cheek. As I snuggled down next to him to sleep & wrapped my arms around him, he wagged his tail a few times, to one huge breath & closed his eyes....and it was over. His best friends Idgie, Zelda & Foxy stayed by his side all night. We love you 'THRED' you will be missed my dear sweat boy.
